WUSA Donor Wall
Many of our Fall Ball parents and participants have noticed the large stone-framed area on the front wall of the concessions and restrooms building at South Campus. As the WUSA banner currently mounted there indicates, that area is the future home of the WUSA donor wall. The wall will recognize those persons and families that contribute to WUSA's current capital campaign, which began with the concessions and restrooms building. The capital campaign will be instrumental in our league's ability to make the following further improvements to our South Campus facility:
- Covered bleachers both sides of each field
- An expanded, paved parking lot
- A permanent flag pole
- Picnic tables
- Further fixtures and appliances for the concessions stand
- A public address system for the fields
- One or more press boxes for scorekeepers and announcers
- Landscaping and shade trees
- Improved bases and movable pitching plates for all fields
- More batting cages and dedicated pitching lanes for warmups
Our South Campus facility is fast becoming recognized as one of the premier field complexes for softball in the Greater Houston area. As a privately owned facility, these fields can never be taken away, whether by municipal fiat, school expansion project, or commercial development. Your contribution to this capital improvements effort will benefit not only your own WUSA player but also future generations of young female athletes in our community. We want to recognize those contributions by putting your name on the WUSA donor wall.
The wall will feature the names of donors or donor families on brick tiles in the following sizes, corresponding to the following levels of contribution:
- 8 x 8-inch tiles for contributions of $2,500 or above
- 4 x 8-inch tiles for contributions from $1,000 to $2,499
All contributions to the WUSA capital campaign for South Campus are fully tax deductible.
Space on the wall is limited, and we hope that it will fill up fast. More than a dozen donors have already qualified through their gifts in support of the project to build the restrooms and concessions building.
