Tryouts for West U Softball will be held per the following schedule, with time slots assigned according to your player's last name. While we are proud of the Texans for making the playoffs, they have interfered with our planned schedule and delayed its announcement while we reordered the times. Though a bit unorthodox, this schedule attempts to accommodate those persons either attending or that want to watch the game.
Tryouts for Spring 2012 softball will be held per the following schedule. Please read the following carefully:
- All players except for Pixies must attend tryouts.
- If you cannot make your scheduled time, you may switch to a different time for your age bracket. If you absolutely cannot make any time slot for your division, please email the Division Coordinator to let him know.
- Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time for your slot in order to check in. Tryouts are done in "shifts." If you are late for a shift, you will be slotted into the next "shift."
- A parent MUST be present to check in a player. Please do not drop off your daughter without being present for check-in.
- All players should be dressed appropriately for softball.
- All players need to bring a glove, mouthguard, batting helmet, and bat. Catchers should bring their gear if they have it.
- The tryout sequence includes fielding ground balls and pop flies, throws to first base, batting (approximately 6 pitches), and running the bases (usually one complete circuit).
- Walk-up late registration will be done at each site.
